Space
Some houses take a day to settle into. The Palm House does it at the front door. The entry opens into a tall triangular ceiling with custom elephant-blade fans turning overhead, and the pyramid windows frame a garden of mature palms and a fence thick with flowers and vines. It’s an unexpected thing to find in the middle of Sonoma County, and it sets the tone for the whole stay — the house is open, and built around the outdoors.
The backyard is the reason to book this house. A private in-ground pool and a hot tub sit in a landscaped garden enclosed by that flowering wall, with a cabana, outdoor seating, and a gas BBQ. The house wraps the yard in an L, so the pool sits behind the building, set back from the street — afternoons here are water, palms, and sky.
Worth knowing up front: the house sits on a corner of a busy street, so you will hear traffic from the front rooms, particularly during the day. We’d rather tell you now than have you discover it. The backyard, the pool, and the hot tub are all behind the house on the quieter side, and that’s where guests spend their time — but if street noise is something you’re sensitive to, this is the honest picture.
The pool is unheated by default, with optional heating available for $200 per day and at least 48 hours’ notice. Full details are in Other Things to Note below. The hot tub is heated year-round at no extra charge.
Inside, the open floor plan keeps everyone in the same room. A gas fireplace anchors the living area, and the kitchen, dining, and living spaces flow into each other so the cook is never cut off from the conversation. The kitchen has both a drip coffee maker and a Nespresso.
The Palm House sleeps eight across four bedrooms, with four full bathrooms — so nobody is waiting on anybody. The primary bedroom has a king and its own en-suite bath. Two more bedrooms sit along a shared hallway with a full bathroom just off it. The fourth bedroom opens off the kitchen through swing doors and has its own bathroom; it works equally well as a study or office for anyone who needs to close a door and take a call. A full laundry room covers the practical side.
There’s also a bonus pool-house space off the garage with direct access to the backyard and pool; it is not counted as an additional bedroom.
“Beautiful house with plenty of room to house guests for our family reunion. Close to downtown Santa Rosa with good restaurants and also close to nearby wineries and things to do. The pool area was beautiful.” — Melanie
The Palm House is licensed for 8 overnight guests and 4 additional daytime guests, which makes it a natural fit for families traveling together, a group of friends on a Wine Country weekend, or a milestone celebration where the pool does most of the entertaining.
Trione-Annadel State Park and Bennett Valley Golf Course are just minutes away, while downtown Santa Rosa is about 10 minutes from the house for restaurants, bars, and shopping. Healdsburg and Sonoma are both within easy reach, making this a convenient home base for exploring several wine country regions — and Creekside Park, with access to the Santa Rosa Creek Trail, is a five-minute walk from the front door.

Driving is the most practical way to get around—short drives connect to US‑101, CA‑12 and local shopping and restaurants. Rideshare (Uber/Lyft) and taxis are widely available for short trips and last‑mile from transit stops. Sonoma‑Marin Area Rail Transit (SMART) serves Santa Rosa with Downtown and North stations; buses and CityBus routes link SMART stations to neighborhoods. Charles M. Schulz–Sonoma County Airport (STS) is nearby and served by ground transportation and shuttle services to Bay Area airports.
