Hey there! We’re the Pakizer Family – Mike, Bridgette, and our trio of awesome daughters. Amble means a lot to us. It is an anagram of our the first initials in our names. Britannica defines it “to walk slowly in a free and relaxed way.” When reflecting on our lives Mike and I realized many of our life decisions were made as we have ambled along together. We have found that when you are surrounded by beauty and nature, you slow down, you relax and you are more able to connect your thoughts to your emotions.

Our story kicks off in our early twenties. Back in our dating days, we’d stroll through local metro parks, dreaming about possibilities and the adventures ahead. After tying the knot, we packed our bags for some overseas living, a mix of community service and adventure. It was on another walk along cobblestone streets lined with fruit trees and back dropped with mountains that we decided it was time to return stateside, time to be close to family again.

Back home, Mike started a career in real estate, first as an agent and then investing. Bridgette took on the full-time gig of wrangling our three daughters. Fast forward to our youngest getting close to school age, our ambles through the neighborhood turned into conversations about what was next for Bridgette. She brought up her longtime dream of owning cabins in Hocking Hills—a place where we, as a family, could come together, slow down, and share that joy with others. Then, in 2021, we stumbled upon the perfect plot with three ‘structures’ that needed Mike’s creative building skills and Bridgette’s eye for beauty.

Long story short, that’s how Hillside Amble came to be. Our hope is that you all can share our love for slowing down together in a beautiful setting as you amble along long our property and the wonder Hocking Hills has to offer.
